The Zero Waste Fashion Training – Methodological Guide and Final Report compiles the main outcomes, reflections, and methodologies developed during the Erasmus+ KA210-ADU project, coordinated by CREAMODITE – Creative Fashion Platform for Sustainability, in collaboration with the Università della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy) and other European partners.
The guide explores how systemic innovation, creative education, and sustainability can converge to redefine the way fashion design is taught and learned. It presents a comprehensive approach that merges theory and practice through the principles of Zero Waste Fashion, encouraging responsible design processes and the reduction of material waste from the very beginning of the creative act.
Throughout its chapters, the publication delves into pedagogical innovation, proposing new educational models based on learning by doing, collaborative learning, and the integration of digital tools with traditional craftsmanship. It also reflects on how design education can act as a bridge between culture, ethics, and technology, fostering a new generation of designers aware of the social and environmental implications of their work.
The project developed a series of international workshops and hybrid learning experiences that connected students, educators, and professionals from Spain, Italy, and other European countries. These activities gave rise to prototypes, teaching resources, and a shared methodological framework that can be transferred to other educational institutions.
By bringing together sustainability, creativity, and systemic thinking, Zero Waste Fashion Training contributes to the transformation of fashion education and to the broader goal of aligning design practice with the principles of the European Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
